“NTLDR is missing.”
Symptom 02.
Reason:
vThe above symptom says that the file NTLDR is missing or corrupted.
v The above symptom is due to virus/unscheduled shut down/deletion.
Step to recover “NTLDR” file by performing recovery console mode.
v Insert the windows XP bootable CD & restart.
v Press any key to boot from CD……
v Set up is loading the files.
v We can see 3 options.
§ Enter = continue
§ [R=Repair/1st Repair/Recovery console mode]
§ F3=Quit.
· Press R to perform recovery console mode.

Which windows installations would you like to log on to
(To cancel, press Enter]? 1 ↓
Type Administrator password:
C:\windows>CD …. ↓ (CD space dot dot)
C:\>dir
Note: Search or the CD-ROM drive letter.
· The volume lable will be [WXPYOL_EN_SP2_AN]
· For example: Drive G is the CD-ROM drive letter.

D:\> dir
D:\>E:
E:\>dir
E:\>F:
F:\>dir
F:\>G:
G:\>dir
Note: Open the existing directory “i386.”
G:\>CD i386
G:\>dir
Note: Search for NTLDR file.
v Pres Enter = scroll [Line]
v Press space = scroll [Page]
v Press ESC = Stop
G:\i386>copy NTLDR C:\ ↓
(C:\ location windows\system32)
1 file (s) copied.
G:\i386>exit
